News:

MILAN--An Italian systems integration and installation firm has expanded its pan-European partner network, adding two new members in Ireland and Romania and will hold its first partner meeting here this week.
Mega Italia, which has a major presence across Italy with some 60 business points comprising six branch offices and a franchise network, launched its plan to expand that network across Europe at the Italian national security show Sicurezza at the end of 2008.
The newest members to join the pan-European network are Ireland''s Active Technology and Romania''s UTI Retail Solutions, Mega Italia''s maketing manager Laura Ratner told Security Systems News Europe.
Established in 1997, Active Technology is based in Shannon and specializes in the installation and maintenance of fire and security systems, including CCTV, automatic gates, door access control and intruder alarms.
UTI Retail Solutions is a unit of the Bucharest-based UTI Group''s security and defense systems division, which, with 1,200 employees, is one of Romania''s leading security systems integration firms.
As Mega Italia''s domestic clients began expanding abroad, Mega Italia decided that a partner network would be the best way to continue to provide services for those clients at their new locations while guaranteeing the high standards Mega Italia''s clients in Italy have come to expect, explained Ratner.
Mega International correspondents are proficient in the four areas of activity in which Mega Italia is involved: CCTV, anti-intrusion, fire prevention and access control.
The two newest members to the correspondent network in Romania and Ireland bring the total number of network partners to 11, Ratner said. The full network will gather for its first formal meeting in Milan on Friday, May 8.
Mega Italia also has partners in Poland, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Belgium and Malta.

The bright shiny new Fiera Milano exhibition center, which hosts Sicurezza, is probably Europe's biggest, most stylish trade fair venue. Visitors arriving by metro approach the facilities via an extremely long walkway covered by a swooping roof of geometric glass panels and lined with clamshell-shaped structures wrapped in metallic sheeting. Populated by well-dressed Italian visitors, it's something like the world's longest catwalk.
Inside, it's no surprise that Italian companies are well represented, many I wasn't familiar with but that are doing interesting things and increasingly working across national borders.
One example is the ambitious Italian system integrator Mega Italia. Since it was established in 1974, the company has steadily built itself up and today has a 60-point installation network that covers the entire country. The company's vision doesn't stop with the Italian market, though. Mega Italia used Sicurezza to launch an international effort to establish a network of partner installers across Europe. The company's marketing director, Laura Ratner, told me the initiative was prompted by the fact that many of its clients in Italy have expanded abroad and need the same kind of high quality installation and maintenance services they're used to from the company in Italy. Agreements have already been signed with partners in Poland, Malta, Spain and Portugal, and talks are underway with prospective partners in Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Ireland, according to Ratner. The company is looking for partners everywhere in Europe, so if you're interested, get in touch.

The project:

Mega Italia has been operating since 1975 and is now the Italian market leader security company (Research Databank, September 2008)

The core points of Mega Italia's winning strategy:
 - global, comprehensive security solutions
 - total territorial coverage
 - full on-line assistance and cooperation

An effective global security solution includes:
 - risk assessment
 - project
 - installation
 - maintenance
 - remote connections
 - training and updates

Territorial coverage
Our network of partners and franchisees (59 units) covers the whole Italian territory

With quality-certified associates, engineers and technicians
 - most Mega Italia partners are ISO 9001:2000 certified
 - Mega Italia partners can take advantage of a total of 3,500 between on-line manuals,
   e-learning and mixed lecture-based/e-learning courses

On-line cooperation
At national level, a global security solution can only be truly effective if supported by a web network

A web network is an organised on-line system allowing all parties involved in the security solution to share all information related to it at any time.
It is based on:
 - on-line project
 - on-line installation
 - on-line realisation
 - on-line training and updates

Mega Italia is now looking to develop its international operations by exporting the systems and strategies that have proved consistently successful throughout the years, thereby creating the MegaInternetNetwork

This is a great opportunity for potential EU correspondents

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia,Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Hungary

Our potential MIC candidate (Mega International Correspondent):

Should be a market leader security systems company in its own country

Should have top-level technical and operational standards

Should be capable of installing and maintaining high-quality security products

Should have widely-structured coverage of its national territory (local units, franchising network)

Together, we can exchange business and truly become a MegaInternetNetwork
